Information We Collect

ResumeCraft is designed with your privacy first. Because your resume data is stored entirely in your browser's local storage, we never have access to the personal information you enter. Here's what that means in practice:

• Resume data — Names, work history, education, skills, and any other information you enter stays on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers.
• Account information — ResumeCraft does not require an account. We do not collect email addresses, passwords, or any authentication credentials.
• Usage analytics — We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that collects anonymous page view and performance data (page loads, visit duration, browser type, device type, country-level location). It does not use cookies, localStorage, or any form of fingerprinting. No personal data is collected or stored.

How We Use Your Information

Since we don't collect your resume data, our use of information is minimal and transparent:

• Local storage — Your resume drafts and preferences are saved to your browser's localStorage so they persist between sessions. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
• Anonymous analytics — We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns: which pages are visited, how the site performs, and general visitor demographics. This data is non-personal and privacy-preserving by design.
• No selling of data — We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Local Storage & Your Control

ResumeCraft uses your browser's localStorage API to store your resume data. This means:

• Your data never leaves your device unless you export it.
• You can view, edit, or delete your data at any time from within the app.
• Clearing your browser's local storage will remove all resume data. We recommend exporting important resumes as PDF or DOCX backups.
• No cookies are used for tracking or advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

ResumeCraft integrates with the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare Pages — The application is hosted as a static site on Cloudflare's global CDN. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for operational purposes.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics — A privacy-first analytics service that measures page views, visit duration, and performance metrics. It uses no cookies, no localStorage, and no fingerprinting. IP addresses are anonymised and never stored. Data is collected via a JavaScript beacon loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com. You can read more at cloudflare.com/web-analytics.
• Export libraries — When exporting to PDF or DOCX, the conversion happens entirely in your browser. No data is sent to external conversion services.

We carefully vet all third-party integrations and choose those that respect user privacy.

Data Security

Because your resume data never reaches our servers, the primary security risk is on your own device. We recommend:

• Keeping your browser and operating system up to date.
• Using strong device-level security (passwords, biometrics, encryption).
• Exporting and backing up important resumes outside of the application.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights including:

• Right to access — Since your data is local, you have full access to everything you've created.
• Right to deletion — You can delete your data at any time from within the app or by clearing browser storage.
• Right to data portability — Export your resumes as JSON, PDF, or DOCX at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
